Family Gatherings in Folsom- House/ Home Church in Sacramento, County

Around a year ago Jonathan Jimmerson was called to stop full time ministry and start a house church. In order to make ends meat, Jonathan founded JJ Music Lessons and along with his wife, the Parlor Salon in Folsom. Here is a little more info on the House Church that he leads- 

Family Gatherings

Family Gatherings is a house church created to disciple and shepherd people in their growth in Christ. Community is the most important part of the house church model and we believe that God is calling the modern church to invest more into people. Family Gatherings exists to model the early church. That means that while our church leadership is held to a higher standard our fellowship is far from perfect. We respect the lives and opinions of others while our leadership follows an biblical example for discipleship and teaching. 

What does a Family Gathering look like? Quite simply- we eat, worship, laugh, pray, and study scripture together. Each gathering is about two hours long and there is child care. There is also a lot of discussion that happens concerning scripture and certain topics. During these times we value and appreciate everyone's input and there is a great deal of Q & A that goes on. 

Mission Statement- We believe that God is calling us to model the early church as close as possible. Certain aspects of course are not the same but we seek to lead the church as close to the way that Paul, Peter, John, and others did. Personal walk with Jesus is held in greater value than professionalism in ministry (although that matters to). At Family Gatherings, we desire to grow in our walk with Christ together. Growth is defined in terms of authentic prayer, worship, knowledge and love for God and not in numbers. We hope and pray that most everyone that grows in Family Gatherings would move on to plant more house churches, discipling in the way that Christ would have us do. 

Vision- We believe that God desires Family Gatherings to be a network of house churches. At some point there may be a regular service that takes place (once a month or more) that brings everyone together for worship but the core of the network is discipleship through the house church model.
